The Berlin Series is an emotional journey, portraying my experience at the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. Being there gave me pause as I followed the lives of 13 families in the underground museum and then wandering around in the labyrinth of symbolic stones laid out in an orderly yet asymmetrical design. "Always Remember", the study in red, was the first piece (second in the series) that caused me to react, hence the helter-skelter nature of the stones. This lead to my departure from photo-realism to embracing the haphazard layout of subsequent pieces.
